About the event
Take on one of the Lake District’s classic ridge routes with our 16.4km Coledale Horseshoe hike, covering Scar Crags and Causey Pike. With an elevation gain of 1300m and an estimated duration of 7–8 hours, this is a demanding, full-day challenge suited to those looking for a serious test of endurance and resilience.
We will meet at 6:30am for this one due to the long drive (2 hours 15 mins). We will stop off at our favourite Tebay services to fuel up for the task ahead.
Route Overview:
Starts near Braithwaite and follows the Coledale valley
Steady climb onto the ridge leading to Causey Pike
Traverse along Scar Crags and surrounding fells with continuous panoramic views
